Weekly Picks, week 4, this week a little more than the normal 3 that are usually mentioned here, mainly some shows worth talking about bits and parts and what I enjoyed about them so hopefully something to enjoy
Welcome back to the weekly picks, week 3. Not much this week but a little behind on other shows, which is pretty much normal and the start of some series getting dropped. Another fun week of heartwarming, awesome over the wall fight, and a storm of Malice so enjoy!
This series is getting better each time, it’s stealing the first spot this week for the weekly picks. Episode 2 was awesomely cute, starting off with koto crying but then moves on becoming a rough tomboy, beating up boys and what not. Things shift near the end which I felt was such a magical moment. It felt like Koto meet her mom for the first time, figuring out the connection to the black bunny with red eyes, even calling her master dad. Such a wonderful episode a heartwarming story about family finding each other so they can all live happily, I found myself watching this episode over and over, even episode 01, that ending moment makes for a great ending for episode 02. So I mentioned on G+ that Rie Kygamiya does a fantastic job of capture Koto, her voice fits such a tomboy character, its surprised me that this girl use to voice Louise the zero, and Shana from Shakugan no shana. These 2 shows where my first time hearing her voice, I found her to be a bit annoying at first but now she’s growing on me quite a bit. From Precure to Gintama, and now Kyouso Giga and now that I think about Kagura totally equals Koto, that combo is quite QUITE the tomboy indeed, now to get to work on a drawing to combine Cura Ace, Kagura, Koto! hopefully!
Kill la kill
The last Dress you’ll ever wear!
let’s get right into that fight scene, for me it was really the only highlight of the episode, seeing Ryuuko finally ‘put on’ Senketsu and using her full power to stand toe to toe with Satsuki was great. Even show off a new attack, scissor blade decapitation mode, but in the end she still lost the fight, probably due to taking so long to figure out how to wear embarrassment properly, thanks mako. The only complain I have is during the fighting some of the CGI was distracting and I felt it took away from the awesomeness. The dust effects with it being sucked in and then blown out was a surprise and a very neat looking that I’ve not seen before, but leave it to Gainax/Trigger to make some cool explosive effects. So now that Ryuuko mouthed off about crushing all of Satsuki’s ambitions and aspirations to get some answers points us into the direction of where things will be heading, if we didn’t already know this was coming. Now after Kill La kill episode three I have a good grabs of how things are going to go with this show and to be honest at this point, I don’t think this series is the best of all time or greatest show, it has hype, its got a great studio behind it, has its moments and cool ideas, but it’s getting more perverted as it goes on. I want to say it’s not much different from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, but everything in the middle is just random silly humor. I mean this studio brought us Little Witch Academia and that lacked any pervterness or sexyness and was amazing, though the bottom line is… I’ll still watch it and enjoy Kill La kill regardless of these fact, I mean heck I watched all of PSG which I’d say is ten times worse than KLK. The next episode looks like it is going to lamesauce.. as far as the preview showed but we’ll see.
Kyoukai no Kanata
The True nature of the storm!
Not much to this episode really but the fact that we learn about Mirai past, the Hollow Shadows storm that is heading over the town, and bringing a sword to a gun fight at the end. The truth has finally surfaced and I was close to figuring it out, Sakura the daughter of the family that took Mirai in, became possessed by the the hollow shadow, and so as the duty of a spirit warriors Mirai had to kill Sakura or so we thought. Mirai wanting to fight the hollow shadow even if it cost her life and Akihito wants to stop her, but a possessed Sakura appears wielding the Gears of War weapon, Chainsaw Bayonet faces off against Mirai and from the looks of it Mirai isn’t even fighting back, maybe because its sakura and she can’t bring herself to attack her friend, lucking Akihito shows up to save her and gives her a piece of his mind. I think I can pretty much figure how things are going to end, you know how Akihito is immortal and half human half youmu, My guess from the preview is he lets himself get possessed by the Hollow Shadow and lets Mirai kill him thus killing the demon/creature/hollow, or it might make him fully human which would be kinda stupid..and its only the third episode, because Mitsuki says something about there is a way to lose his immortality. All in all looks like next week episode will close some lose ends with some action and craziness strange things happening, anyways hopefully there will be more to talk about in next week’s episode.
Finally the final First impressions for 2013 is here! took a while to get this one out but it’s all good, So lets just get started things rolling right away shall we.
Tokyo Ravens.. it’s sounds like ehh at first, but enough to get a chance with me, the story is about a guy, Tsuchimikado, who pretty much can’t see spiritual energy, so lives a normal life till things change, and do they change. This series took my by surprise, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into at first but after watching the first episode the drama kicked in! this blonde chick, shes…. quite …different… I mean did you see what she did with that candy apple? so far no real complains really, but damnit Harutora don’t be soo mean to Squid Girl (Hokuto), though that’s not too big issue really. I wanna know what going to happen now, though because this one was late I already check out the second episode and What the heck! No spoilers but I did not see that coming but kinda figured it afterwards, and now I sorta want to see what happens, this show isn’t my priority either, just something that looks interesting to watch want more of this series, What now is all i have to say.
BlazBlue: Alter Memory
The story just sounds stupid and confusing in a way, Ragna the Bloodedge Guy gets ownd but comes back to do it all over again, why?. The first episode nothing grab my attention to actually care about anything going on, and I don’t think I’ll miss much, with a lot of other shows on my plate this one is one series easily the one to drop off my list.
Kakumeiki Valvrave 2nd Season
The return of that Valvrave, first of all the first season had interest developments, VERY interesting…This series is entertaining and neat ideas to add, Like the students are piloting the mechs all with different ability, almost like gundam 00 and Gundam wing. The vampire idea is still a little strange, but makes a this mecha series very different and gives me that Code Geass feeling to it. This is a pretty much a watch for me, not a great series but a good one for some mecha action and somewhat an interesting story going on, and I watched the first season so might as well stick to this one to see how things end or continue.
Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru
Um…this series is quite the pick.. I mean I can’t choose if I like this one or if I should drop it, there are sooo many other anime’s to pick from this season. Okay choosing aside.. I find this one amusing the first episode I didn’t like how it took almost the first half to explain the choices made throughout the century’s. but the second half made up for everything, i nearly lost it when Kanade Amakusa meet up with his neighbor and picked “hold me” as his answer.. poor guy but such a hilarious scene. So girl falls from the sky, because god sent her to help Kanade, this god sure has a funny way of helping someone, and this girl is something.. What I’m not liking so far is now there seems like other people are having this ‘Choice Curse” so that’s kinda ehh.. but what’s got me sticking around for this one is the ending of episode two.. hmm.. wow what a turn of events.. I wonder what happens next..
A fun looking series after watching the second episode now, this one is a watch for me, its got a nice art style, and cute girls so why not right? oh and It has a giant CUTE mecha Goldfish.. according to Hozuki Ferrari. So pretty much.. Hozuki was the only reason im watching this series I mean we have ourselfs a loli Tony Stark that made a mecha goldfish in her basement.. Now that episode 2 has been out I am now curious to how this family will survive this whole thing, Ya seems everyone made it out alive.. but the dad who stayed behind in a goldfish suit.. and OH MY what an ending that was.. so now… I’m completely hooked to find out what happens next.
Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!
Okies.. three episode of this series and I think I’ve had quite enough of
(Azusa’s K-on) Sakura Hagiwara moaning and giving up.. I mean I do like that she isn’t winning her first matched cause then I would also complain about that. It almost watching a straight up fanservice sports anime of a girl that keeps moaning from pain, and shots of her crotch in ever shot of her fights. I think ill end up dropping this one, It not entertain but distracting.. Good try Sports I Give up on this on.
Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle – Shukuteki! Rätsel-hen
Woot Phi Brain, this series has been a very entertaining, amusing, fun show to watch and I’ve liked every minute of it, the characters are all likeable, except Cubic Galois, Boy he is soo unlikable.. but all the others are fine. I usually prefer girls to play the lead roles because I like women/girls that are in charge. That being said I sorta like Kaito in this one he a cool main, but such a puzzle freak, Ana Gram boy is she a fine guy or what? I mean s/he really cute and I watching her silliness, finally Nonoha… please don’t be so useless this time okay? Even Nakajima, Megumi is in this series! that enough to keep me wanting more, but she’s hardly in this series.. too bad because I want to hear more of her lovely voice. So far I kinda like how they made Jin seem like the bad guy this time around, with some kitty girl, Rätsel Plus the rest of the cast even Freecell and Rook so a lot of character to be amused with. I’m with Kaito on this one, I don’t think Jin is the bad guy and is being controlled like everyone else and I think Jin hates DEATH puzzles or puzzles that bring harm to those who enjoy them however it will be interesting if he really is the bad guy.. now that a twist I didn’t see coming. Anyways This series is automatically on my list and I totally want more death puzzle time! Let the games begin again!
Okay first things first, Here at Kawaiiosity I want to do things differently and since the new season started why not change try them now? weekly picks will be the main and only section of this blog. If you’re new to things what weekly picks are, well basically I’ll recap each week with the shows I think deserve to be in my top spots and Weekly picks, I’m thinking posting these every tuesday, that may change. Each episode will get a short paragraph about what I loved about what i just seen, what I think might happen and share it with my readers, generally it will be anything I find Entertaining, Awesomely cool, bitter-sweet, lovely and or adorably cute! So I’m sure there will be something here to talk about here, some episodes might even make me curious to speculate what will happen next. Plus I may have a special feature for a final spot on a show or two that sometimes get overlooked or missed because there are soo many good shows out and a lot may not have time to see them all.
Now onto the second round of First impression, there are a lot of shows this season alone, we have new shows, more second and third seasons, some shows getting more than a few episode. With so many shows one thing we can count on all sort of art styles, and we get just that, full CGI, CGI with anime, anime in detail to sketchy art style, which ever you like I’m sure there will be something for everyone to enjoy, so with that lets continue with the second part of my fall first impressions.
This Week on First impressions We have
with so many series to watch this season I wanted to give shows i wouldn’t normally try a chance to surprise me, and are first one happens to be Walkure Romanze. Now at first I thought this could be a pretty neat idea for an anime, Jousting is a pretty cool sport and I’m sure it’s fun to watch, as an anime I was quite curious to see how it will do. Welp after the first episode it felt blah slow, trying to be silly…so i’ll say it was blah-ly-decent, I’m sure if I drop this one I wont miss much, the art is pretty, the story isn’t too hard to follow, but none of the characters really stand out to me. They just don’t hold my interest to care much at what’s going on, the main girl I get the feeling will be a dumb luck character, the main guy just feel lacking, the horse might be more fun to watch, they do look pretty nice. Though character aside what about those unneeded panty shots, really? sounds a bit disparate, but what can you do about it, I just feel this one is lacking something to hold my interest. So bottom line is I’ll give this one a bout 2 more episodes to see if it will grow on me and make me change my mind but it’s not looking good for this one… So here goes to giving it a fair chance.
Gundam Build Fighters
Yay more gundam, now with actual plastic models! Now I like gundam but god damnit this pokemon style art, a lot like Gundam Age it’s just not my thing, Gundam Age DID have some good scenes, and I’m sure this one will too.
Now I do like the idea that this series has, fighting with plastic gundam models, if they could make this a reality, that would actually be pretty awesome, I mean the whole setup, build your model and use it to fight in a battle, that would be pretty neat. anyways being its owned by gundam we get to see all these old school gundam’s fighting other old school or even newer gundams, now that alone might be worth watching this for. Come on Unicorn vs wing zero! This series reminds me of Angelic layer, a series that I actually enjoyed watching, maybe because CLAMP and the main character was a girl.. I don’t know but was quite entertaining and had some great moments. Now Gundam Build Fighters, for some reason i feel like it’s not going to keep my attention and its sad really beacuse gundam use to be so awesome till gundam seed….but after the first episode, there was really no hook no reason to be the best, and on top and not only that but someone else gets to do the fighting? what? i wanted Iori to build up the courage to fight by himself, and not by some magical force or Seedmode, learning through training, But now they went with some gay wish thing and ill be by your side.. lame! So the gundams fighting each other might be the only reason I bother with this one..so well see with more of this one.
My beloved voice actress Kanemoto, Hisako is back and playing as Saeki in Gingitsune such a cute and fun character with that added voice how could you NOT want to check this one out? Now at first this series sounded kinda blah to me and the giant fox fury thing wanted me to just not bother with this one, but I gave other shows a chance and at least this one sounds nice? First episode was great, a little emotional, a little cute, and just the right amount of story to make me want to see more and what else Saeki will have to deal with later on. I wont lie this one did get me a little teary eyed at one point, so if that happened then it might be worth sticking around for, at least her voice is nice for Saeki right?!
Non Non Biyori
Elementary school student Hotaru Ichijou has moved with her parents from Tokyo to the middle of the country. Now she must adapt to her new school, where there are a total of 5 students in the same class who range through elementary and middle school ages. Join their everyday adventures in the countryside.
Okay going into this series knowing only that it was a couple of students in different grades going to school today for some slice of life style story. Now i couldn’t help but think about Higurashi, which it’s probably the same arae, but without the deadly virus, killing, blood, and crazy faces. First episode was quite quite… SLOW, but still provided a bit of entertainment, though for a change of pace this one might be a good fit in all the crazy action shows that I’ve already going to invest my time into. I nearly feel out of my chair when Hotaru Ichijou said she was a 5th grader…sorry she looks older than that.. in a way she looks 9th grade? but well girls look older younger or something it just didn’t fit right. But the most amusing one of them all is Renge Miyauchi, she is great, Meowning! and the whole “are we in the country” bit was funny to watch them all try to hide that fact or try to figure the differnece and crushing everything right at the end after trying hard to not to come out and say it, Sorry Miy-chan you’re a country girl.
So did anyone watch the first season? Welp this person did and well… parts were awesome, others were lame and the main 2 characters are even lamer, sigh Satellizer el Bridget still shy and clumsy as ever, just like samurai bride I won’t lie to myself again. Samurai Girls was good, I wanted Juubei Yagyuu to stay badass and awesome, when brides came out I expected her to be badass more than ..special, boy was I wrong. So with Freezing I know Bridget will be forever shy, easily embarrassed and clumsy for MOST of the anime and she’ll be badass when fighting. Anyways I’m hoping to see more of these monsters they fight, and lots of new characters and old characters that I like giving our mains a hand and what not. Big boobs that grow each new frame, no loli kids running around, clothes ripping off and enough panty shots to make anyone blush.. though somewhere down the lines you develop some sort of immunity to it, at least that’s what it seems like. Well hopefully ill get some entertaining action from this series I’m looking forward to something great from this one.. lets hope.
Reading the summary on this one I automatically thought “Oh great another SAO/ .Hack series with people stuck in a fantasy online game..” though with that in mind I was curious in seeing what they can possible do to make things different from those series. The first episode wasn’t too bad and I liked how the combat works in this one, it took them a bit to figure out that they couldn’t just point and click an ability, but rather ignore the game commands and just perform the moves with the body. I also like the characters, Naotsugu seems like a funny guy with his openness about being a pervert, Shiroe our smart glasses tactical leader figure, and Akatsuki, the assassin who is saved by Shiroe is ends up joining the team, I just like how Naotsugu and Akatsuki interact with each other, kneeing him in the face when he says something he shouldn’t. I’d like to see how the other mechanics work, mainly how death works and can they be rezzed or what? other than that the story sounds kinda blah with no real goal set yet so hopefully the next two episode will explain it, right now I’m pretty excited about this one.
Diamond no Ace
This season has a few sport themed series and I normally skip them, either they don’t hold my interest or I don’t know much about the sport to bother with them. With this one i know a little bit about baseball so i should give this a shot, and being it’s the first season i feel i could actually get into it and maybe like it. The first episode was pretty neat, I liked how the main guy knows that the sport can’t be won without the team, so already he has a good head on his shoulders, I kept waiting for his whole team to be invited to play which I hope happens because it would be neat, however I doubt thats the case here. So with that I’m pretty much excited to see what happens in this story and If i will enjoy this one to the end. My only problem with these sport shows you know in the end they will be victorious but knowing that I think what will hold my attention will be HOW they get to that point.
Magi: The Kingdom of Magic
Awesomeness Magi back! I have heard some great things about the manga, which I’ve not even read yet. I did enjoy the first season, I really enjoyed it leaving me wanting more. When season one came out I wasn’t too sure about it, it’s not something I thought would interest me but it grew on me and I came to liking it, so finding out season two was coming this fall I couldn’t help but be excited for it. Now I just wonder what will happen to the story this season and with the first episode giving me only a vague idea whats direction the story will be heading, and from the hype and manga talk it sounds quite interesting so ya, im pretty excited for this one for sure, hopefully it will be a great and entertaining watch.
Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta
This season is chock full of surprises, seeing a few ONA and OVA’s making it to series is pretty cool, first with Kyousougiga and now this one. I am just overly happy Yozakura Quartet finally got a series, but almost feels like it’s still not enough but I’m just satisfied with this for now. The animation isn’t the best but it doesn’t bother me too much it reminds me a little less than kyousougiga or even Kill la kill, which for me this art style is fun and full of exciting and over the top action scenes. The first episode felt great because it wasn’t a big recap so we will be able to explore more of the story, all the old characters are back while mixing in some new villains give this series a new direction for me, so I can’t wait to see whats to come as this series goes on, hopefully it will be a fun and entertaining series.
Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio
Oh noes! Not the Fog! scary! oh wait.. that’s a different movie, Welp.. a Fleet of Fog (battleships) loades with super awesome weapons? oh okay that might be cool then. So watching the first episode all I have to say is…wow.. they went with a full CGI, thats a little disappointing, maybe they will hide the characters with long cool awesome ship battles..maybe. I don’t mind the CGI, but id admit some parts do look bad like it feels too robotic but I’m sure I’ll probably get use to it and continue to watch this series, if I didn’t have a lot of time this series would be either dropped or added my watch later list, but for now I have the time so its like why not, maybe they might surprise me. So far The idea of this series is what keeping me around, I do like battleships, subs, and big ship destroyers, all controlled by Robots and androids that look and feel like humans and our main group and his friends have control of a sub to fight the Fleet of Fog. I did enjoy the first battle they had, but it was too short due to jumping around all over in the episode to give us the plot I guess, it was enough to wonder how awesome a full-scale battle will be like, I heard it gets much better so im quite curious to see that for myself.
Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai
So this series sparked my interest, magic in the 20th century this magic is put into object to bring them to life and they even gain their own personality’s that sound pretty cool. But where its loses me is the battling each other bit.. reminds me of yugioh or zach bell, never liked any of those series so this one might not be as interesting after all. The art style also bugs me, the background feels like it doesn’t quite fit with the characters, it could be for an artistic feel and some of the dolls designs look poorly done just looks too plain not much detail to em. The first episode wasn’t bad, Yaya grew quite annoying for me, all over her master, even wanting to sleep with him every night.. just LOVE me master! Raishin seems like your everyday main character fixated on his goal not caring about anything but at least he’s not a doll freak who’s madly in love with his doll right?. so anyways this series has two strikes against it for me on a personal level and my own taste, however I’m willing to give this one a little more time, maybe it will grow on me well see.
Welp here is another sport show that has my interest, I stated before that I don’t really pick up many sporty shows but after picking up that sport anime, Diamond no Ace, I figured hey why not pick up this one too and check it out. So I did and the first episode I could actually enjoy this one, it totally reminds me of Eyeshield, and I feel that’s how things may end up. What i mean is the main guy is good at running because of bullies, and so becomes their ace runner, now with this one, he pedals up a tough up a steep road on a mamchari bike made for short trips, so one must wonder how good he would be on an actually racing bike? Character aren’t too bad, the main guy just doesn’t know what he’s destined for, and there are girls in this one! ones cute while the other kinda… looks scary, the bike racing team all look intimidating almost like Sakamichi Onoda doesn’t fit at all. The story is basic and pretty easy to follow but these type of sport shows make it fun to watch to see how our characters will shock and amaze the other teams, and How they win each match so I’m really looking forward to see if this one will keep me wanting more.
BlazBlue: Alter Memory
Kakumeiki Valvrave 2nd Season
Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru
Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!
Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle 3rd Season
I have returned from my long hiatus, reason being I felt Stella Jogakuin wasn’t really getting views or reads for the most part so I figured it would be a nice idea to take a little break and start again with this fall season of anime. While on my hiatus I thought about a new way to write, maybe one that will be fun and straight to the point, simple so its fun and I don’t feel like im going on and on, and well enjoyable to read that the main idea with this new start. So in other words turning over a new leaf this fall season more way than one if you get my drift.
First Impressions, you know the drill if not the its simple, after the first episode of each series I give my input, whether I’m going to stick with it or drop it.I usually end up watching almost everything in each season, with a wide range of genres that I like there is a lot of interesting series out there, not to mention when they mix some of my favorites together.
This Week on First impressions We have
So this one looked neat, the PV showed some awesome action scenes followed by some giant spider robot which I Have to admit it was pretty epic. The story takes place In 2016 a nuclear power plant cases a big catastrophe leaving the parts of the world with high levels of radiations, 20 years later Solid snake lookalike from the Self Defence force sends out highschool girls to look for survivors because they have been made to withstand radiation. After watching the first episode I can say that I want to see more and see what our characters will find in their searches, because I’m sure there is something not quite right behind the scenes, and again the PV of a giant monster attack was pretty awesome. So ya I can’t wait to see how that happens or why it happens. The art style is different and surprise! no up-skirt shot, Yay for keeping it classy guys.
For some reason when I see Ibara Naruse I automatically think of Shino Amakusa, from Seitokai Yakuindomo.. I dunno if that would make this series cooler or lamer.. just something I silly I had to share.
Welp I am very excited to see this ONA finally get a 13 episode series, however it is quite a confusing one ill say, so ill break it down a little from what I’ve read. Basically Our main Koto and her little brothers are having fun causing massive mayhem through the land of Kyoto, they are in search for their mother, but it looks like Koto isn’t really wanting to look for her, probably for leaving them behind or something. Kyoto is ruled by Yase, Kuruma, and Myoue (Demon, Saint, Human Monk) and they are also looking for “mother”, the long-absent Lady Koto, but now that the young girl Koto (same name as Lady Koto, different spelling) turns up, it sorta keeps Lady Koto from sharing the same dimension, But if Koto is place in extreme danger they can cause Lady Koto to return to them.
To go into it more my guess is that Lady Koto and Koto are the same person, it says Kyoto is the mirror capital, making me think it is a copy of another Kyoto, or rather a different dimension, Lady Koto and Koto somehow got swapped and thus causing Lady Koto to go missing. Sharing the same name with different spellings and the rules of Kyoto think she is the key to all this. So the only lead is to follow this bunny, but this is just my speculations and what I’m guess at this point. ANN sorta breaks things down a bit better in my opinion.
Lastly why I like this slightly confusing series, right away I am reminded of FLCL’s random craziness, over the top action scenes while making everything all Penguindrum-ified while adding it’s play on words to add more to the confusion! Even the very simple animation makes it quite enjoyable, from crazy silly expressions to impossible anatomy moves making you ask yourself if it is indeed possible to do in real life. These mindless feats are enough to make me like this series, But what I am mostly hoping to get out of this is what actually is going on and I’m sure with 10 or 13 episodes we will, So i can’t wait to see the story actually unfold this time around.
Kyoukai no Kanata
So this one I had high hopes that it wouldn’t be another Chuunibyou, but knowing it be dumb for them to do two series based on Delusions. This one was just what I was expecting things to turn out and the first episode was great, mixing action, moe clumsiness mixed with cute sounds from Mirai, with all the silliness to go around, oh and glasses to boot! I’m sure ill like this series a lot this season. Basicly Mirai uses cured blood to kill Youmu, yet she is scared of them, But with Akihito by her side she will be able to hopefully cope with her job of killing these youmu’s.Mitsuki on the other hand wants Akihito to stay away from her, which has me guessing she likes him but wants to get rid of Mirai, being the last of spirit warriors (demon Slayer) and doesn’t want Akihito to interfere because she sorta likes him, Though again I am just speculating here. This series looks like it will be a fun story as things starts to get serious and unfold.
Nagi no Asukara
A beautiful looking series hands down everything from the land, the sea, even the characters look nice right down to those big blue eyes, but that’s what everyone would say because well PA is behind this one after all. So what matters.. At first this series sounds decent, but after the first episode im pretty much hooked on this one now because I know there will be some drama to unfold later on, and I can already see the love triangles forming. Something about a story where the main character/s are outcasts, seeing what troubles they face, how they cope with it, I’ve seen this play out countless times and each time it gives me such a good feeling. My only complaint is Hikari Sakishima, This guy… man he is so mean to poor little Manaka, I get it you’re just looking after her but damn man.. relax gesh! Anyways I’ll stay with this one in hopes for a nice little romance story full of drama and love love this season, which I’m a total sucker for and fall in love with the characters, even though it’s usually already determined who they end up with, ahh such is fate with a romance. maybe….maybe… this one will be different.. pfff,.. we will sea.
Strike the Blood
This series I wasn’t too sure about, it sorta reminded me of Blood Knight but a little different, girl protects vampire and what not. Now I didn’t mind that series and I do like vampires to an extent.. I’m just glad it’s not a loli vampire that would suck..On the other hand this one also feels like to aru majutsu no index, small city where just about everyone has demon powers, magic and all that jazz, so ya this series has a lot of likes and comparisons. My exceptions are not too high with this one, the story is about Kojou Akatsuki, who has no memories but apparently he might be the Fourth primogenitor and is being put under observation by a middle school apprentice sword shaman girl wielding the strongest anti primogenitor spirit spear. Ya that sounds cool it seems a bit simple to me but it is enough to stick around for and see what develops, it is pretty to watch even those upskirt shots of those pretty red/pink design panties…ya.
IS: Infinite Stratos 2
Ok this season brings back IS Infinite Stratos 2, which i can say I’m not expecting anything from at all, and as sad as it sounds I’m only watching for Charlotte, what the first episode I would replace the title with Laura and Charlotte’s date, because basically that’s what the main part of this episode was about. Laura feels like she just made a 360 in personality, she is more open and much much more cuter.. the scene in the bed with Ichika, oh my Laura, her face when she said “I’m not nakked!” she looked so proud of herself. No back to dense Ichika for inviting everyone to festival when clearly Laura wanted to be alone with him… lucky guy gosh. After the episode Laura clearly has a better chance with Charlotte…they are bound to be shipped like now.. They WERE SOO Adorably CUtE in those costumes, Laura blushing and charlotte wanting her to say ‘meow’ can they be any more cute?! Anyways that aside this series might turn out to be decently good, that part with the military getting destroyed by our mysterious character( I’m assuming its Ichika sister just playing the other side or looking for clues) and the new blue haired character sorta gets me a bit expected to see what is in store for this season of IS2.
Welp all I can say about this one is it sounds very stupid, the idea to spread the otaku knowledge to the fantasy world just sounds lame and dumb, but for some reason I still want to watch it. Ya if i didn’t have much time to watch anime I would probably drop this one quickly, but for now ill give it more time. Not much else to say about this one, it will sure be entertaining to say the least and maybe it might surprise me and do well which i highly doubt so well see how this one turns out.
Kill La Kill
Ok this series is the Number one spot on my anime watch list this season, Being a fan of Guren Lagann I am expecting great things from this series, much like Kyousougiga, the over the top action, the simple art style everything that made me fall in love with Gurren Lagann. Now Trigger is fairly new ish (est. 2011), but so far I’ve enjoyed everything they’ve done and of course that comes with no surprise because they use to be part of Ginax so I’m overly excited to see what else they do. Speaking of other things they have made, Little Witch Academia is one anime I’ve enjoyed and would watch like a million times, I’ve even started to imitate the art style, it’s is a neat design and very simple truly inspiring my art style.
Moving on, Kill La Kill is both insanes and quite entertaining, the first episode was a rollercoaster of a ride without stopping, the action just kept on rolling till the end making for a very impressive first impression, I just wonder how long they can keep that pace going. The story is pretty straight forward Ryuuko is a transfer student wielding a giant basami scissors sword, in search of her father killer, her sight is set on Satsuki “Steel Queen” Kiryuin the Student Council President of Honnouji Academy. Ryuuko believes Satsuki knows something but she is stopped by the council’s Four divine kings, but luckily for Ryuuko she gains the power of a sailor uniform that wants her to wear it, and it’s actually a keepsake from her family. Now that bit about the uniform sounds kinda stupid but.. hey.. why not right.. it wont keep me away from this series, Just wear me on this.
Little Busters!: Refrain
So Little Busters makes a return this season which I’m not too over excited about but I am looking forward to see the other characters stories. For some reason I’ve been told things get darker in this half and that is almost like the first series never happened? which confuses me, and watching the first episode of the second season feels like things are all normal just showing off the other characters stories that wasn’t talked much about from the first season. But either way I’ll watch this one and see for myself what going to happen and what not, however I dunno little busters isn’t high on my watch list for some reason..maybe to me this series is meh.. the first episode was a bit boring till Kurugaya arc started. Other than that ill still watch this one in hoped of it surprising me and gaining my attention.
Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita.
This one came out of nowhere for me I like to go into an anime not really knowing what the story will be about to feel more surprised when I finally watch it, and that isn’t always a good thing. This series started out fantasy fighting then the next minute they are working at some best buy/ magic shop selling all sorts of things that are powered by magic.. I was feeling like they are trying to hard to cash in on ‘Hataraku Maou-sama! Thankfully there aren’t any loli in this one, but far too many juggling boob girls, at least 5 of them, and panty shots to maybe help their sells? which ever the case for this one it might find its way on my drop list, I’ll have to see more to see if I will actually be missing out on anything with this series
